Michael L. Piels, CPA
Michael, a longtime resident of the Rogue Valley, grew up attending Medford's public schools. He graduated from Southern Oregon University (formerly Southern Oregon State College) in 1978 and passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant exam the same year. Upon graduation, Michael worked for two of the larger regional CPA firms in Oregon, Yergen and Meyer CPAs and Isler, Colling & McAdams CPAs prior to establishing his own firm in 1984.
Michael is currently licensed as a CPA in both Oregon and California and is a licensed Municipal Auditor in Oregon. Michael L. Piels CPAs, LLP has grown from a modest one person office to one that now employs 18 accounting professionals in three offices with Michael as the Managing Partner.
The firm is currently engaged in simple to very complex income tax return preparation and income tax planning, representation of taxpayers before taxing authorities, audits of state and local government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and commercial business enterprises, and a full range of traditional accounting services.
Michael's community involvement includes:
• Served as an Officer and as the Exalted Ruler of the Medford Elks Lodge.
• Treasurer and Board Member of the North Medford Rotary Club.
• Board Member of Rogue Federal Credit Union and Options Plus for eight years.
• Member of the Complaints Committee of the Oregon Board of Accountancy from September 2001 through December 2007.
On a Personal Note:
Michael enjoys spending time with his wife Bonnie and their dog Charlie, his daughter Rebecca, son in law Steve and grandchildren Payton, Joshua, Jacob, Kennedy and Kellen Banry, and his daughter Stacie and her husband Dan Westbrook. Michael's other interests are golf and travel.

Stewart Parmele, CPA
Stewart has lived in the Rogue Valley for the past 17 years. He graduated from Southern Oregon University (formerly Southern Oregon State College) in 1990 and was certified by the Oregon State Board of Accountancy in 1993. Stewart began working for Michael L. Piels CPAs, LLP in 1990. Stewart is currently licensed as a CPA in both Oregon and California and is a licensed Municipal Auditor in Oregon.
In 1997, Stewart became a partner in the firm with a focus in audit, accounting and tax services for state and local governmental agencies, not-for-profit organizations, and commercial business entities. Stewart's previous business experiences include eight years as a licensed journeyman electrician in the construction industry and three years in the U.S. Army.
Stewart's community involvement includes having served as an Officer of the Medford Jaycee's as treasurer and board member. Currently he is the treasurer and serves on the Finance, Day of Caring and Executive Committees as a Board Member of the United Way of Jackson County.
On a personal note:
Stewart enjoys time with his daughters Amber and Logan, and son Collin. Stewart's hobbies include basketball, golf, travel, and relaxing around the pool.

Robert W. Hague, CPA
Robert, a Rogue Valley resident most of his life, graduated from Crater High School, Central Point in 1983. He achieved his college education at Southern Oregon University (formerly Southern Oregon State College) in 1993. Robert did not go college right from high school, he spent the Spring, Summer and Fall for ten years working as a river guide in Oregon, California, West Virginia, Maryland, and Arizona, spending three of those summers working as a river guide in the Grand Canyon. During this same period of time Robert spent four winters in New Hampshire and Oregon working at ski areas. After graduating from college, Robert worked from 1993 to 2005 for accounting firms in the Medford area, spending ten years with Dale E. Foster, CPA P.C.
In December 2005, Robert became a CPA for Michael L. Piels CPAs, LLP. In January 2007, Robert became a partner in the firm with a focus in tax and accounting services for individuals, business's, and not-for-profit entities. Robert's accounting and tax experience consists of providing a full service personable mentality to his clients. Robert's community involvement presently consists of being a member of the advisory committee for the business technology department of Rogue Community College.
On a personal note:
Robert enjoys spending time with his wife Ann and their two daughters Alexa and Milan. Robert's other interests consist primarily of outdoor activities such as rafting, golf, travel and following the Oregon Duck athletic programs.

Jessie Bridgham, CPA
Not so new to the Rogue Valley, Jessie has returned after 24 years on the Oregon Coast. Jessie graduated from Southern Oregon University (formerly Southern Oregon State College) in 1982. Before beginning her career as a public accountant, Jessie worked for a local school district as the assistant business manager for eight years. Her duties included budget preparation in compliance with Local Budget Law, insurance and employee benefit analysis, all aspects of payroll and administrations, and preparing and reconciling all accounts for the audit process. Knowing the auditor's and the auditee's points of view, as well as the challenges, have given Jessie a unique perspective in relation to municipal auditing. Jessie is a licensed municipal auditor in Oregon.
Jessie started her public accounting career as a staff accountant with Yergen and Meyer, a regional firm in 1990, which later merged with Moss Adams, and in 1996, Jessie became the Audit Partner for the Coos Bay office, retiring in 2004. Jessie joined Michael L. Piels CPAs, LLP in July of 2007 as Audit Director for the firm. Over the years, Jessie has served a wide range of municipal clients, including school districts, community colleges, cities, ports, counties and special districts. She has taught several classes on municipal budget law and financial statements, both locally and statewide. Jessie is the recipient of the Certificate of Educational Achievement in Government Accounting and Auditing issued by the AICPA.
Jessie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accounts. She is currently serving the Oregon Board of Accountancy's Peer Review Oversight Committee and has served on the Board's Continuing Professional Education Committee.
On a personal note:
Jessie enjoys spending time with her husband, Tiff. They enjoy spoiling their grandchildren, remodeling their home, landscape design, and golf. Jessie also enjoys a good book, drawing and painting, gardening and singing with her sisters.

Gary W. Sutton, CPA, CFP®
In the 1990s, Gary and his wife Mary traveled to the Rogue Valley to visit friends. They were so impressed with the valley and its residents that they pulled up stakes and moved here.
Gary has a Master's degree in accounting. He has been a CPA since 1977. He also holds a CFP® certificate, the most well-known credential in financial planning. Gary is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Gary's professional background consists of a variety of financial and management experience in public accounting, manufacturing and distribution, investment brokerage, real estate brokerage, real estate management and medical clinics.
Gary's primary focus at Michael L. Piels, CPA, LLP is tax services for individuals and businesses. He is also available for controller services and other business consulting. Soon, he will also be providing "fee-only" financial planning for clients who want financial advice that is free from biases caused by sales charges, management fees and commissions.
